Alain Ducasse Plaza Athénée

Restuarant at the Hotel, Plaza Athénée, Paris

My husband and I dined at the restaurant located in the hotel Plaza Athénée in the heart of Paris, France. While the food here was very expensive, the quality was like nothing I have ever tasted.

Neither my husband nor I speak French very well, and we were surprised at how helpful everyone was in helping us understand the menu and what the different types of food were. You could tell that everyone working there took pride in their job and that they really loved it!

We had actually been told by the lady that checked us in at the Plaza Athénée Paris hotel to try the restaurant because of the chef's extensive knowledge, experience, and reputation, so we thought "okay, let's give it a whirl..." and we were glad we did!

You know how there are times that you go to restaurants where you can just tell the food is not original? Well, we had been to quite a few of those when we had traveled other places in Europe and this restaurant was truly different. In addition, the atmosphere was both welcoming and peaceful. Also, the wine list was sensational and had choices from other places too: Both Italy and Germany were also on their list to choose from.

Truly one of the best dining experiences one could ever hope for in Paris because not only did the food taste great, it LOOKED great too. What I mean by this is that every course of the meal was like a little piece of art, and it was really neat to see the creativity and effort that was put into the cuisine because you just don't see that very often.

So, in closing, I have to admit that the price tag was a little high than what we were used to, but I guarantee that you cannot match the service nor the food that you will have at the restaurant in the Plaza Athénée Paris.

Oh my goodness Kimberley. That's the restaurant run by Alain Ducasse, one of the most famous of chefs in all of France. I am profoundly jealous, but I thank you for posting such a wonderful review. Great contribution! - Kim
